Shepherd’s Huts
Sleeps 4 / Extra space for 1 child
One double bed and a children's bunk bed
Suitable for children of all ages

From £145 p/n
Kick back and enjoy the stunning views of the Highclere Valley from dual shepherd’s huts, barbequing the local fare, and sitting round the firepit stargazing.
At Highclere Stud, you’ll find yourself amongst a historic 300 acres of undulating hills and lush grassland, earmarked for the rearing of thoroughbred horses since 1902. The site is adjacent to the larger Highclere estate, better known as the set of Downton Abbey – and as you can imagine, the locale here is stunning.
-
Your shepherd’s hut is not one, but two huts, side by side. The first is your cooking and dining space, where you’ll craft meals to enjoy out on the picnic bench overlooking the Highclere Valley, or in the comfort of the hut – when the weather’s not playing ball! The second hut’s where you’ll sleep, with everything you’ll need for a snug night’s sleep, a wood burner for warmth, as well as the indoor bathroom.
Your days could be spent exploring the rest of the North Wessex Downs National Landscape, exploring the famous Highclere stud that surrounds your space, or heading to the many fantastic places to eat in easy reach. When the sun begins to set, the festoon lights come on, and you’ll be roasting marshmallows over the firepit below twinkling lights, and shining stars – and you can toast to a spot well found.

‘A delightfully cosy stay at The View in two Shepherds huts; one for cooking and dining and one for relaxing and sleeping. Dog friendly too. The perfect place to spend the weekend celebrating our wedding anniversary. Very responsive host too.’ Elaine
’We stayed for 2 nights at The View. Zoe had put the wood burner on when we arrived due to the frost - thank you. The location is very peaceful and remote, which is exactly what we were looking for. Zoe we was a great host who was available when we messaged!’ Adam
’Absolutely wonderful stay and really made my partners birthday special. Zoe was so welcoming and personally showed us around. Was a surreal experience and would highly recommend!’ Carmen
‘This is how we spend all our holidays (2 adults and a child), so have stayed in quite a few cabin/hut etc type places now and this was honestly one of the best. Stunning location and the huts were beautifully appointed, had absolutely everything we needed for our stay. Warm welcome and good communication from the hosts. Would love to come again for a longer stay and explore more of the area.’ Claire
